La Plataforma Art Gallery
La Plataforma is an art gallery and creative production studio. Located in a former printing house in the industrial area of Poblenou, it collaborates with contemporary artists—both national and international—offering a multifunctional space for the dissemination, creation, and promotion of the most avant-garde art.

Since its beginnings, La Plataforma has focused on promoting and disseminating the work of emerging and mid-career artists, whose works reflect the diverse realities of the cultural landscape.

  La Plataforma Gallery presents Unfunny Paintings, the first solo exhibition in Barcelona by German multidisciplinary artist Matti Schulz. The exhibition brings together a selection of large- and small-format paintings and drawings that explore the boundaries between humour, popular culture and social criticism. Through an absurd, ironic visual language filled with recognisable references, Schulz creates a distinctive universe that invites viewers to question reality from a perspective that is both playful and critical.

During AR-DE, La Plataforma Gallery offers a programme that combines the discovery of the exhibition with participatory experiences connecting different artistic practices.

Friday — Afterwork & Art:
A gathering centred around Unfunny Paintings by Matti Schulz, offering visitors the chance to discover the exhibition in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy art beyond the traditional gallery experience.

Saturday — Guided Tours:
An opportunity to explore the exhibition through guided tours, delving deeper into Matti Schulz’s visual universe, his references, and the relationship between humour, popular culture and social criticism.

Sunday — Vermut & Art with Julio Loaiza:
An experience combining art and textile traditions with Julio Loaiza, visual artist and sculptor, who will give a live demonstration of mask weaving. An opportunity to discover the artist’s creative process and explore the expressive possibilities of weaving as an artistic practice.
